Montecito Success Story:
Barbara H.
I had a stroke that affected the entire left side of my body. I was unable to get out of bed, stand, walk, or even get dressed by myself when I was first in the hospital. I came to Montecito late in the evening, feeling anxious and very sad. I was welcomed
and greeted pleasantly.
As I began receiving direct care, I felt cared for and cared about. The staff were overwhelmingly positive and supportive throughout my entire stay. I thank everyone, because the strength of the staff is how they work together to meet each patient’s needs and give extra, sincere attention when possible. The therapy staff were especially competent, and I made very good progress. I opted to private-pay for additional weeks at Montecito, mostly to keep the same PTs and OT.
I am finally back home! I continue to progress physically, mentally, and emotionally. I am now cane-free and able to do everything on my own. Thank you for the good food, soft bedding, spotless housekeeping, holiday activities,
and so much more. You have my eternal gratitude.
