Montecito Success Story:
Roger F.
Hi, my name is Roger F. and I am from Paige, AZ. I was in the hospital for 5 months due to congestive heart failure resulting in increased fluid on my heart and lungs. I needed a tracheostomy and feeding tube put in due to several complications and was transferred to multiple hospitals. I lost all of my function, couldn’t eat or even breathe on my own, when I finally got to Montecito. I’ve been getting good help here from the staff, and really appreciate the effort Kayla (PTA) and Taylor (COTA) have put into getting me stronger. I started with working on sitting at the edge of bed and was helped up almost every day to go to the gym. I started off working in the parallel bars in order to stand and then eventually learned how to walk again using a walker. I am strong enough now that Kayla taught me how to walk upstairs and progressed me to a cane. She was an amazing therapist who even bought me clothes when I had none. Taylor taught me how to get dressed, shower by myself, and was always checking in on me to make sure I was doing okay.
I am very excited to be going home soon to my mom, son, and dogs. We love riding ATVs and fishing together and I never thought I would be doing that again. I want to give a big thank you to the Montecito staff for always doing their best for every patient and especially to the therapy staff for working so hard every day. The staff here really cares and I could not recommend Montecito enough for a post acute rehab.
